PFW Favourite :Manish Arora

Monday, 13 October 2014

Helloooo there!!!

Fashion Week is one of my favourite times of the year apart from Christmas of course. This fashion week saw designers showcase the best of their creativity on the catwalk. I had so many favourites but one that stood out to me from Paris Fashion week was the Manish Arora collection. Since I study fashion design at London College Of Fashion I was really amazed by the concept behind  this collection. It reminded me of Rihanna's music video for 'Only Girl In the World'. Pastel colours have always been a big thing for me there is something just whimsical about it.

The iridescent colours, glitter, mesh and metallic highlights were just spectacular, like a modern version of retro futuristic fashion or a pastel utopia theme. I can see lots of influences from Indian beading. The collection reminds me of characters in a video game or some type of virtual world, also the collection has a slight Moschino feel to it.

I love the way Manish Arora used simple sporty silhouettes and reinvented them with an overload of glitter, sequins and appliqué. Over all I love this collection and I am excited to see what they have in store for next fashion week.
